I like GOG. Even though most of the frequent posters here are savvy enough to get the game to work, for many people that isn't the case and what GOG do makes these games available for them. They're not charging for the work that they've had to do to prepare the games for easy use and the fee that they charge for the non-freeware games is hardly excessive. Also, no draconian DRM (none at all, in fact).
Perhaps not significant to you and I, but they do provide an extra service for many people and they give stuff away for free. If that directs people to their site who then turn into paying customers, all I can say is: good for them. It's not like anybody's forcing them to publish these games and they're not forcing users to buy anything else either.

I see they'll be releasing Far Cry as well. I can scarcely believe that it's been 10 years since I worked for Crytek. FC was just in development then. I remember testing the first tech-demos on my then state-of-the-art GeForce 3.
