I am trying to run Magic Carpet Plus from an iso image file on my HDD using a fresh install of Dosbox 0.72.

I mount C:\dosbox to C and the image file to D with imgmount:

mount c c:\dosbox
imgmount d d:\dosbox\***.iso -t iso

I can switch to drive D: and dir lists the executable 'carpet.exe' so I know the image mounted correctly. However, when I type in carpet, I get the Dos4GW initial text and some files are copied to C:\ but then the game hangs at a black screen with no video output.

Oh and this iso image loads fine on Virtual PC and runs with sound okay, but it is real choppy so I thought I'd give Dosbox a shot.

I have read the readme and various posts on MC and mounting image files.

Maybe compare your checksums with mine and see if it really is the same game?

Got it. I had to extract the iso to a directory on my HD and then mount as cdrom

mount d c:\dosbox\carpet -t cdrom

plays fine now.

Kept hanging when I tried to mount the iso directly as -t iso or -t cdrom.
