I have a Pentium 75MHz with MS-DOS 6.22 installed. I have it connected to a MT-32 via the gameport of a Soundblaster 16.
The MT-32 works well with most games, save two: Simon the Sorcerer 1 and Waxworks, both made by the same designers. Adlib music works well in both games. The MT-32 works with the music of the sequel Simon the Sorcerer 2 without any problems.
When I start Simon the Sorcerer 1 with MT-32 choosen in the setup, the game is really slow and the mouse pointer jerky and the MT-32 shows no signs of detecting the game.
I have these lines in my autoexec.bat:
SET MIDI=SYNTH:2 MAP:E MODE:2
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 T6
Does anyone recognize this problem? Or is there anyone who can play Simon the Sorcerer flawlessly with MT-32 music and has any idea what is wrong with my computer? I'm only using original hardware and software from the early '90:es.
