I downloaded DosBox 73 but could not find a Config.sys file to modify in the package. I used the one from the previous version (63 I think it's called)and changed the fullscreen setting to TRUE

It worked perfectly for a few days for Railroad Tycoon (original version). Now it suddenly changes all the colours to a much darker (difficult to read set) without any warning. This continues to happen now.

I have checked the monitor plug and it is secure.

Any suggestions

Francis

I am having a similar problem with Railroad Tycoon. Sometimes it works and sometimes it comes with mostly purple colors. It seems to load OK. When I am going to have the problem the colors start looking different when the MPS labs screen is displayed.

I installed .74 on my PC. In the C:\Program Files\2K Games\Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon directory is a sub-directory called DOSBox 0.65. It looks like its still using .65. How do I know which version is running? How can I fix it so it runs with .74 instead of .65.

I am using the Railroad Tycoon version downloaded from this site http://www.2kgames.com/railroads/railroads.html. It creates a shortcut that starts Railroad Tycoon with the file named "RDXF.BAT".

If you have it working how do you start it up?

Check that batch file and modify it accordingly (post contents if not sure),
keep an eye on the used dosbox config file as that may need to be adapted
from the 0.74 template as well.

I would uninstall DOSBox, remove all leftovers and reinstall it from scratch.

Doubt that can be uninstalled separately, but Qbix might know details about it.
