Hi,

I recently acquired some sound blaster 2.0 clone as it seems.
Does anybody recognize this card and know the brand/type and possible introduction date of this card?

Click here for the picture of the card

ST is just a semiconductor manufacturer. There ar as many Texas Instrument chips on the card as there are ST chips so I doubt its from ST itself.
I really wonder what the large blank chip is. Must be some kind of DSP or something. I also wonder what the OPL FM chip is. Either the one above the large chip but it has a very different number, or it must be the square-like one.
The emptly sockets are probably exactly the same as on the SB 2.0, for the CMS Chips (including the elusive 3rd chip) as there is a CMS jumper.

Looks like a (clone of?) a Soundblaster 2.0.
- 8-bit mono DAC
- CMS jumper and sockets for SAA1099 CMS chips
- ressources port 220/240, irq2,3,5,7, DMA1
- Joystick port
- 74LS631 most likely mislabelled (what is a '16-bit parallel error and correction circuit' supposed to do on a sound card?), could be a FM clone
- the large chip is the mask-programmed Intel MCU used as "DSP" - have you tried to read a DSP version from it?
