Using DOSBox 0.73 when I run the install.exe for Strike Commander it wants to install the game of floppy disk. I can see from the compatibility page that Strike Commander is "supported" -- I'm new to this and would appreciate any tips on how to install. Do I need a floppy disk? Is there some way to map the floppy drive?

I also am quite positive I remember having a Strike Commander CD, not floppy disks... I don't have the CD anymore, it's about 10 years lost, I'm lucky to have the files.

This thread nor the last makes any reference to "abandonware" -- I'm just asking for a little help about DOSBox from anyone who is willing to provide some info.

I watched the tutorial:
http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Basic_Setup_and_In … ation_of_DosBox

Helpful to get started, unfortunately it doesn't address the issues I posted, at least I don't understand it to.

I've been reading the wiki:
http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/

Which event includes a stub for Strike Commander:
http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/GAMES:Strike_Commander

But also haven't been able to solve my specific issue. Was there another source you were suggesting? Do you have any comment as to dealing with Strike Commander's installer which is looking for floppy disks?

So, where is that, then? Nothing included with the download was named "manual" and I don't see it on the website.

Aha, found that.

Holy crap, it worked. I had to add -t floppy to get the floppy mounting to work, everything installed fine after that. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Now I just need to find a joystick...
