I tried many of these extractors and none worked for me. What worked was importing the ALIFE.000 on Audacity as raw data selecting unsigned 8-bit PCM mono 22050 Hz, which was maybe how this was extracted. But you need to identify and remove the loud and noisy data sequences manually and cut the audio to save each fragment separately. On a quick visual inspection, I found these ranges, but there may be others:
