Hi there...
Firstly sorry for my pool English... 😐
I have to run a foxpro 2.6 (dos) application on windows 7. (It is registred with a license xxxx,etc...) So I heard about this program, DOSBOX... I have downloaded it, I have installed it and I read something about how to configure it.. I had to modify .conf file that users do not have to write it commands. This I've done it in section [autoexe] of the conf file. Until here everything is ok. I have started the program, it's started, but at some point when trying to get in one of his modules (which creates some files xxxx.tmp) in the first window of DOSBOX says that it can not write those files xxxx.tmp. This makes the program to lose license which means I can not use it further 🙁

The mounting commands are:

mount x d:\
x:
cd x:\vvv program folder\
vvv

A question. My program is not on dosbox folder. It must be there?

What drive is x? is it a physical drive? hard disk or cdrom?

I think you should have at look at the forum Guides Section.

Some examples.

Let's assume you have all your dos programs in a folder called dosp (using shortnames for DOSBox related stuff is advisable). And also, you need to install a program (invoked with install.exe from your cd-rom drive {which has physical letter h}. So, you will need to mount both the hard disk (destination) and the cdrom (source). You will issue the following commands:

Z:\>mount c c:\dosp
Z:\>mount d h:\ -t cdrom
Z:\>d:
D:\>install.exe
{we are installing to c:\myprog folder. Wait for install to finish}
D:\>c:
C:\>cd myprog
C:\MYPROG\>run.exe

And so on.

x is my virtual partition of dosbox, and is on my hard disk. My program vvv is on partition D:\ of my hard disk, in folder "My program".

you haven't mounted a c drive nor a d drive. Mounting an x drive will only screw everything up. Games, programs expect a c drive and games with cd-roms expect mostly a d drive.
Also long path names are not supported, shorten the program folder to 8 characters.
