I am having considerable difficulties with the imgmount for the mechwarrior 2 cue/bin file with music. Each time I attempt to mount the file, I receive the following error message:

Could not load image file: c:\oldgames\mwcue\MECH2.cue
MSCDEX: Failure: Invalid file or unable to open.

I have searched the various help areas in the forum, beginners' guides, etc, and even attempted my luck in google, but I have not found a solution to this problem.

EDIT: Also, I currently use DOSBox 0.74

Also, here is the .cue file that I have for this:

I didn't test images with encoded audio myself yet, but did you try moving the ogg files to the same directory the bin file is in, and removing the paths in the cue file?

The paths to the first 3 audio tracks start with a dot, so they are relative pathed; and the rest do not have a dot, so they are absolute pathed. Nothing conclusively wrong about it, but it looks strange, and could be the source of your problem.

Pardon that omission,

I am using Windows Vista. However, I've gotten Mechwarrior 2 (DOS) running, just without the music. But, I am kind of a purist, and if I want MW2 DOS to work, I bloody well gotta have the tunes. I will however attempt addict's and ripsaw's fixes.

EDIT: I attempted both recommendations, placing all the .ogg files in the same folder as the bin/cue file, and also modifying the .cue file by adding dots to all the prompts as well as removing the dots, unfortunately with no success.

EDIT 2: I took a second look at addict's recommendation, and I noticed that I forgot to take out the pathways. That is done, and now the imgmount works, and the music is working ingame. Problem solved, thanks.
