None of the function keys in Mechwarrior2 seem to be working for me in Dosbox. In the game, if you press F3 its suppose to bring up the satelite uplink. F1 is suppose to change the HUD damage read out, and so on. None of the "F" keys work when running the game in dosbox. Other then that, the game runs great. I have tried in Dosbox versions .74, .73, and .72 and still the same problem. What am I missing?? I have tried resetting the dosbox config file back to default, as well as the key mapper. Still nothing.

Software:
Dosbox v: .74, .73, .72
Mechwarrior2 v1.0
Windows_7 64-bit

Thanks for the information, but I am not using a laptop so I do not have a "FN" key to lock the function keys. But that gave me some ideas.

1. I tried another usb keyboard, did not work
2. I checked the permission on the gamekey.map file, and they seemed ok
3. I was going to download the Microsoft Intellikey software to change the functions of the "F" keys, but it does not work with Windows_7.
4. And, I didn't have a PS2 keyboard to try

I finally found a solution...
I reinstalled MW2 and mounted the cd image. It worked fine after that. I think the problem came from the fact I had previously cracked the game so it would not ask for the cd and I would not have to mess with the imgmount command. The cracking of the mech2.exe must have screwed something up. I don't recommend cracking, I also got a nasty virus from that which caused me a weeks worth of headaches. In any case, it works now and I appreciate the help.

BTW: I own all the MW cds since I have LOVED the game since I was a kid. I am going to buy the "Pentium Edition" because that is the only copy I don't own. You can get it for $15 from ebay. Blushing
