I managed to install Wing Commander: Privateer to my C drive after consulting a very helpful guide. However, I ran into this problem in which I need to configure a joystick or mouse. I raised the mouse to the upper left, clicked, and nothing happened. It did not progress to the next stage. How do I fix this issue?

The calibration is for a joystick only. You need a real joystick (or a joystick emulator like jmouse) to pass the calibration. You cannot use a mouse as a joystick in dosbox (except with the aforementioned emulator).

Another alternative is to disable joystick in dosbox (see dosbox.conf). Then Privateer won't try to calibrate a joystick (and you won't be able to play with a joystick either).

Sorlin I urge you to buy a USB joystick for this game. It's sooo much better. Same goes for the Wing Commander series.
