I am trying to get Aces of the Pacific, released by Sierra during the early years of the Clinton Administration, to run properly in DosBox. The game is actually running near flawless but for one key exception: the joystick.

The Problem:

- When playing the game I can only get responce from the aircraft by pressing the joystick forward or to the left, (pitching the plane down or rolling it to the left). Pulling the joystick toward me or pressing it to the right result in no responce from the aircraft.

What I Have Tried:

- I have downloaded two different versions of Aces of the Pacific and the problem is there in both.
- I have tried various ways to calibrate the joysticks.
- I have used two joystick, (usb and the old game port style); both result in the same problem.
- I have tried various combination of compatability mode.

Strangely enough, I have experienced no problems when running its sister game Aces Over Europe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They are abandonware.

You mean old software that is still copyrighted and thus illegal to download.

Use your legal copy of the game and install it correctly.
