I have installed Fantasy General and it runs perfectly.

However when I try to install the later released mini-campaign it fails.

The mini-campagin comes as FGEXP.EXE and if run expands into several files.
When running the Install.exe of those files the program asks where to install the mini-campaign of Fantasy General. Many years ago when I installed it I had to select the directory in which I installed Fantasy General but that won´t work now.

Trying it in Windows XP SP3 simply does nothing - I can select the right directory and when I select start the program ends and has done nothing to the Fantasy General installation - the game runs normally unchanged.

If I try to add it to Dfend Reloaded with Doxbox 0.74 and run it it always complains about the wrong parent directory whatever that means?

Problem solved.

I made the error to expand the files of the exe into the games directory itself - that was the reason the install of the mini-campaign always complained about wrong "parent directory".

When I expanded the files into ANOTHER directory and ran the install THERE, specifying the directory of the game as target - then everything works fine and I can play the mini-campaign 😀
