I am trying to run The Dig using dosbox on OSX, I am pretty sure I have the play files and the cd files.

when i go to run thedig.exe it askes me for the cd, i dont know what to do next

DOSBox sees a different, internal file system than on your computer. You likely need to mount you're PC CD-ROM to DOSBox's CD-ROM.

Something like...
mount D "<CD Path>" -t cdrom
...with <CD Path> replaced the the appropriate path statement under OSX.

As far as I know, The Dig was never released on floppy. I would suggest that you get a legal version before asking for help.
