Hello out there,
I am a new user to Dosbox. I have figured out how to run Lemmings 3D, but I would like to run it in hi resolution. It requires EMM386.exe's use of conventional memory to be set around 5632 or higher. This requires me to use a autoexe.bat and a config.sys file. It has been so long since I have used such files that I don’t know where to begin in making them. Would anyone be able to advise me on how to build and execute such files in Dosbox?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

While you could potentially set DOSBox up with a config.sys by using some variation of the "boot" command (as documented in the readme), it seems unlikely that it should be necessary; DOSBox has ems and xms enabled by default.

Are you sure it's not already running in hi resolution? "EMM386.exe's use of conventional memory to be set around 5632 or higher" doesn't even make sense – if anything, it would be expected that a high-resolution mode would require EMM386 to use less conventional memory. If you're looking at http://www.museo8bits.com/biblioteca/pc/manua … 03D/english.pdf , that's not what it says.

If you want to test this, edit the "memsize" line of your dosbox.conf (see http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Dosbox.conf#.5Bdosbox.5D ) and set it to a value of 3 or 4, and see if it uses a lower resolution.

Thank you Jorpho for the reply. I had the game in the wrong video mode.

Have a good one.
