windows 7 cannot get games to stay in fullscreen

im trying to play descent, first i tried just dosbox then i got d-fend installed but still i cant get descent or any game to play in full screen and yes i am pressing alt+enter to get there. it will go full screen and then come right back out.

i have an amd turion x2 64bit, radeon mobility 4650, windows 7 ultimate 64bit

i tried searching around for some settings but couldnt find anything really....anyone encounter this before and get around it?

You could try fullresolution=0x0 and output=direct3d, see if that solves anything. i'm guessing you're using stock settings like surface which wouldn't really play well with Aero in fullscreen.

when the game opens windows turns off aero so thats not a problem. in d-fend i changed reso to 0x0 and now it will stay in fullscreen but the game window it still the size when its windowed (like 1/4 of screen real estate). and yes i have surface selected in d-fend, but couldnt find direct3d

i tried dxx-rebirth and it didnt work, my mouse was frozen to top left corner of my screen

Choose some other output than surface.
