I had read that, to enable the (mid 90's) dos game, 1944 Across the Rhine, to run successfully in doxbox, i needed to change the file attributes of the file the game sits in, in windows; which i did by going to the specific file, right click, properties, unselect "read only", then "ok". Then asks me to confirm attribute changes, which i do for that folder, subfolder and files etc. try to run the game in dosbox and it keeps dropping out. When i go back to the folder, it has "read only" selected again - what am i doing wrong with this?
