So DOSBox runs fine on my desktop PC and has for years.

But on this laptop it seems to be not working so well. The laptop is an ASUS U33Jc, it has an integrated nvidia 310M. It works okay for other games stuff that uses it.

So when launching DOSBox, it just goes to a black screen. If you alt-enter, the prompt appears. If you alt-enter back to windowed, it's still blank. if you repeat this again (not sure if it's random or not) it will work when windowed eventually, usually the second time. However, it's very unstable when doing this, and can be fairly unstable when fullscreen.

For some reason, Steam games that bundle DOSBox don't have stability problems (though have the same problem when windowed) maybe because they start in fullscreen.

I've tried changing the output to surface, overlay and ddraw without any effect and I've played with some other video settings to no avail.
