Doom95 doesn't run natively. It relies on VXDs for even mouse control. You'll want to find a source port
personally i wouldn't use an 'enhancement port' which may alter physics and the general difficulty of the game to be easier due to "fixes".
For Doom try Chocolate Doom
I would have recommended DirectQ for Quake (faithful looking D3D9/11 port) for it's general puristness and ease (it can load gamedirs and maps while running through the ingame menu) but i've noticed some gameplay bugs caused by it like rockets going THROUGH shamblers caused by some orientation bug
