PCjr does not display CGA games unlike other computers.
On PCjr, there are
no light cyan, light red and white
No light green, light red and yellow.
No dark cyan, red and dark white.
PCjr there are just
Light cyan/purple/white
Green/Red/Brown.
That is expected since the PCjr isn't fully register-compatible with CGA. Different port writes have to be done to control the palette.
Do you think dosbox can emulate that on pcjr mode?
From what I see, yes, it can. Try Alley Cat or Sokoban with machine=pcjr for proof.
Some games that were written for CGA but not for the PCjr will show the symptoms you describe. I suspect that they will show the same behavior on a real PCjr (or maybe they'll be broken in a different way).
I don't have sokoban when I was using a pcjr until 1994.
Alley Cat works fine on the PCjr but I can't tell if Sokoban also works on the PCjr or not.
Using Dosbox on PCjr mode, the intro works and the man goes inside the elevator. I can't write names on the PCjr mode. It works fine when using Tandy mode.
Yeah. I noted the cga colour has changed even on PCjr mode.
I threw away my PCjr in 1994 because it has stopped working.
Peharps somebody stll has a PCjr could check if sokoban works on the PCjr as well.
