Take a look at www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Celeron/TYPE-Cel ... mine).html and scroll to the bottom. Is there some reason the markings on the Celeron 950 look different from all the other Celerons?

There's some discrepancies with the faster Coppermine PIIIs, too.

its really nothing special, just a new type of marking that applies to all late coppermine cpus(and tualatin).

I believe it was sometime in 2001 that they quit putting the Intel logo on the chips and went with the smaller markings. Possibly late 2000; I don't remember any Pentium 4 chips having the Intel logo on them.

Yep seems the logo was dropped in 2001.
