I would like to have the dosbox window open in a larger size. I have set scaler = advinterp3x(from 2x... it's better) , but I'd like to make it even bigger without it being full screen. Is there some kind of way I could set it to advinterp4x or 5x? I already tried it unsuccessfully, but maybe there is alternate work around I could use?!? If it can make it grow to full screen and 2x and 3x I'm hoping I can make it even larger despite not having a built in advinterp4x or 5x.

Why? The background is... Basically I'm using Fraps to make some recordings and it doesn't want to work when dosbox is on full screen, but it will record when it is in a window... So I'd like to make the window as large as possible without being full screen. So I can get the best recordings for my audience.

Thanks in advance!

Matt

Watch my video tutorial as per my signature 😀

It's quite long but explains quite a bit.

Just follow the steps until you get to the bit with the window resolution.

DOSBox also has built-in video recording (but can't mix an input from a microphone).

I'll watch the video.

The built in recording function doesn't work with my game. It only records the music an not the screen.

I also want to capture my microphone so I'd like to just get a larger window.

GangreneTVP, did you install the video codec (start menu -> all programs -> DOSBox 0.74 -> Extras-> Video -> install video codec) ?

I'm still at the same point I was at before the video. I've edited the config file and think I understand that pretty well. I think I need to edit it beyond the config file. I need more config file options.

What I need is more scaler options.

No I didn't install the codec because the built in recording feature will not capture my voice, which is important. I don't want to do post recording commentary.

I'm just looking to increase that window size as much as I can.

There are no more config file options or other ways to configure dosbox (beyond the commandline options in the readme).
It's important that you also try different output settings AND that you ade using the latest graphics card drivers.

OP sounds like a bad idea...
If you _really_ want to capture your desktop you should lower the resolution of your desktop ( which will make the dosbox window look bigger )

Covered in my tutorial 😀

At 5m28s.

But you need to have the other settings in place as well. So just watch the video 😀

If you are more specific about your screen, screen resolution, video card and post your config file I can help you more.

But really, the video explains everything.
