I have a Pentium II 333Mhz that I use for my DOS machine. I only have DOS 6.0 on the box. When my computer boots and gets to the EMM386 line it outputs

EMM386 driver not installed

I've been reading up and I've found that the error comes up if my processor is not a 80386 or higher processor. But wouldn't my Pentium II fit the bill, it's a 80586 no?

Is there any workaround? I supposed I could use QEMM. I'm trying to allocate some XMS so that I can play games like X-Wing.

EMM386 will provide EMS, not XMS
You need himem.sys for that (and emm386 needs himem as well).

Oh ok, that makes sense, I had himem.sys commented out. Thank you.
