Hello,

I apologise if this is the wrong place to ask, but, I work for a company that still has customers running character mode applications. Their Windows 2K/XP machines are slowly being replaced, and so their choice of machines to run their character mode applications in a full DOS screen is diminishing. I've tried the WMIC command, but it doesn't adjust the font accordingly to match an 80x25 screen.

Could someone tell me if DOSBOX could be an alternative to run a fullscreen character mode app as since Windows Vista, a full screen command windows (CTRL+ALT) isn't possible.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many Thanks,

R Wheatley

Yes, but.

DOSBox is intended for running games. The authors say that over and over. I think they mean it.

That stated, I use DOSBox to run WordStar which is my choice of programming editor. It works fine for me. YMMV.

You might also look at other emulators: Bochs et al.

Sincerely,
