Alas, I can't help but wonder: maybe there _is_ a clue I should follow if I ever wished to play these old Sierra games on a CGA notebook or palmtop (i.e. eliminating the streching). I seem to recall there are numerous Sierra driver modifications already.

The "Getaway Entertainment 6 Pack" from Epyx already does detect and use such a video mode properly (being a game pack for laptops, that's pretty much expected).
