I'm running windows 98se and I have an at I rage pro 4xxl 16mb which doesn't like glquake. It crashes. I vaugely remember something to do with rage cards not liking glquake.

This forum is for Windows games. Look at the forum description. Ask hardware and driver problems in Marvin.

Upgrade your drivers for a more mature OpenGL ICD and remove opengl32.dll from the Quake folder. I've had Rage Pros working in GLQuake before. The only big difference i've seen are particle edges and noisier dithering.

you should even be able to run quake 3 on that card.

Isn't glquake 97 a windows port?
I've deleted opengl32.DLL
It starts and plays fine. On exit it crashes. I hit quit then press Y and it does an illegal operation error. I've Reinstalled windows 98se 12 times already. Swapped hard drives. Swapped rage cards, a different rage card plays it ok and doesn't crash but that one doesn't support fog table.

Older ATI cards had their own miniGL pack. Have you tried installing it?

Which card do you have exactly? 16MB cards are usually Rage 128 based, when I search for "rage pro 4xxl" I mostly get hits for "Rage 128 Pro 4XL".

This is the stock card that comes with the PowerMac G3 B&W. GLQuake was also ported to Mac OS Classic and I was able to run it with that card. Remember that there are different versions of GLQuake out there, maybe you got an early one or the drivers you're using has some bugs.

You can also use Scitech GLDirect, its a OpenGL to Direct3D Wrapper.
Now Freeware, Serial is also freely avaible.

EDIT:
Ok i tested this with Rage Mobility.. doesnt work well.

EDIT#2:
Now testing glquake with TitaniumGL.
Works, but is buggy.
Framerate is well.

(Testing on XP with GPU accelrated TitaniumGL)
