Hey guys, I have a problem with running Mine Bombers on Dosbox. Other games I have tried, work perfectly, however every time I launch this game, I get this error: error in register.dat Please do not touch this file!

Don't matter where I download the game, always get the same error

Anyone know what could the problem be? Wanna get this Gold working 😜

Illegally downloaded software is not supported here. If you want to run the game, you should get original disks.

It is quite likely that all the sites from which you "download the game" have the same version that someone incorrectly (and illegally) copied many years ago. If the game was copied incorrectly, then you probably won't even be able to get it running on authentic DOS hardware.

The only thing I will suggest is that you look at the 60 Seconds Guide if you haven't already.

Mine Bombers should be freeware, if I'm not mistaken?

Oh. Phrases like "Don't matter where I download the game" tend to be associated with illegal downloads, and there are many questions about those here, so I just assumed. Oops. 😵

Problems like this can easily be caused by mounting a folder incorrectly. Where did you extract the game, and what are you typing when you start DOSBox?

Have you tried it? It works fine here.

Yea, didn't think about the phrasing 😁

I got the game working. Even tho I didn't do anything with the register.dat. The problem must've happened somehow during the extraction. 1 file was missing from the game folder and after finally founding it, i got it to working.

Also, my brother tried to run it aswell and he got the same problem. I don't know how we both could fck up the same way, unless it was the game/dosbox. Anyway, doesn't really matter, I got it to working and thanks guys for helping 😉
