Is there anything that can be done to speed up the DIR command in DOS? Sometimes it can take seconds for it to read a directory, even after I just called the command.

I only use SD/SSDs in my retro builds so it's not like the drive has to spin up.

Reduce your partitions. This is probably DOS taking its sweet time to calculate the free space. What are your specs?
