Does anybody here know much about the Pentium 2 mobile ?

I have a 233Mhz here, it uses a proprietry intel socket (ive got the whole system). Is this a multiplier unlocked setup ? Or can it be overclocked ? The variant i had came in 3 versions, 233mhz, 266mhz and 300Mhz.

Win 98 Retro PC: AMD K6-2+ @ 550mhz, Mitac 5114VU motherboard, 256MB RAM, Radeon 7000 PCI 64MB DDR
Win 95 Retro PC: Intel Pentium 233mmx, Elpina M571 motherboard, 32MB EDO RAM, Voodoo 3 2000 16MB PCI
Main PC: AMD Ryzen 7700x, 32GB DDR5-6000, Geforce 3080

Mobile PII usually use MMC-1 or MMC-2 package. On rather small PCB (about half size of Slot 1 PII) there are soldered several components - the PII CPU, external L2 cache, i440BX northbridge and some kind of VRM. MMC-2 supports AGP interface, while MMC-1 doesn't. Of course MMC-1 laptop only supports MMC-1 CPU... and the same applies for MMC-2.

As far as I know, multiplier is locked and overclocking is impossible.... at least without performing difficult HW modifications. It might be possible to upgrade your laptop to PII Dixon - they have 256 KB full speed L2 cache and frequency up to 400 MHz.

There was the 3rd variant. Mobile Cartridge Assembly (MCA). Example.

Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 Gb DDR400B,
Radeon HD3850 Agp (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
Voodoo2 12 MB SLI, Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).
