Running Carmageddon with GliDOS is extremely slow, about 5fps. Any help would be great. Here is my info...

I thought it might be the sound that is causing choppy performance so I totally disabled sound and music in the Carmageddon sndsetup.exe program to no avail. I also tried disabling Forced Texture Smoothing and setting the resolution back to 640x480 and enabling Full Screen in GliDOS but it didn't help. Is my computer just too slow?
