My friend says AMD K7 based Sony laptops can have their cpu upgraded. So I plan on upgrading my Duron 900MHz "Camaro core" to a 1300MHz model. All Mobile Durons have 25W TDP, so no trouble there. On the mean time could I use the 900MHz M-Duron in a normal ATX desktop motherboard and have a quiet low power system build?

I'm also going to try to put 1GB or ram in this thing, since I think it may have the Via KT133A chipset. (OEMs often lie about max ram upgrades. I once put 544mb in a Gateway laptop that claimed to support only 288mb and it worked great) I'll have to cleck with CPU-Z for chipset specs after the test install of WinXP completes.
