Posting an entire system spec would be a good start.

And perhaps post a pic of the entire BIOS screen along with the CPU frequency?

Note - have not checked the Bios rev. Will check to see if cpu is oriented in socket correctly, this wasn't obvious to me at the time due to there being
a arrow indicator on the cpu but didn't notice anything on the socket so 50/50 chance I screwed up. Also the stock fan ass'y was a &%%#@$$ to get on,
couldn't get some of the pegs to snap all the way thru the mobo. Thought it would be straight-forward but will check for actual instructions. May end up ordering a higher-end cooler with a back plate of some kind.

I'm not sure how correct this is, it should be 100% correct, but here your cpu is not listed as supported:

One thing I'm sure of is that the CPU is correctly placed in the socket 😉

The E5800 is comparatively new, the board quite old. Unless there's a BIOS mod for it, you're probably out of luck..

Well looks like another swing and miss. I got the E5800 thinking since the FSB was the same that's all there was to it. Now have to decide if going for a Pentium D or 4 will be worth it or continue on my quest for a Duo core set up. Got a E8500 but no board to go with it and that's why I got the E5800 to begin with. Anyone offer any suggestions for a mobo to fit a E8500 chip? Like to get it right on my 3rd attempt!

Anything with 975X/P965/P3x/P4x/X38/X48 chipset is able to run E5800 at full speed.
For E8500 I suggest U scratch from the list any G31/P31/G41/P41 board.

Get a P35 or P45 DDR3 board for your 8500
