Trying to run this game with General Midi support (through Roland Sound Canvas VA VSTi for example) but manual says:

Guilty is compatible with a number of standard soundcards, using the Audio Interface Library system devised by Miles Design. If your soundcard is not listed in the SETUP program, but you have obtained the necessary AIL drivers for it, then you should proceed as follows:

1. Copy the new MIDI and digital drivers to files named CUSTMIDI.ADV and CUSTDIGI.ADV respectively.
2. Select the Custom Soundcard option from the SETUP soundcard lists.

Yes, there is no General Midi option in sound setup, only Custom midi option (which driver is absent), GUS, AWE32 and so on.
And where should i get this CUSTMIDI.ADV?? Or should i don't bother coz this games composed for MT-32? Same question for The Orion Conspiracy (same devs, same engine)

Well, like it says – it uses Miles driers.

I did a Google search for <miles drivers for general midi>, and http://www.vgmpf.com/Wiki/index.php?title=Midpak popped up. Maybe that's worth a try?
