Primary, i've got this card (GF6600GT PCIe) for 5€ only due to the mounted arctic cooling silencer 6 for nvidia cards with Geforce 5 and 6.

I thought to demount it, and put it on a AGP card cause i have more AGP based retro systems. A test shows now:
It's not really silent, seems that the fan is running not really smooth. There is a low noise to hear, i cannot describe it clearly...

It's possible, maybe, to disassemble to cooler in its single parts, and take some lubricant or something else to get a smooth running fan... ??

There is no such thing as truly being silent in forced air cooling even in a nice cooler like this, what sort of noise are you getting? I would go ahead and oil the fan and scrub the blades then it should be fine.

There is usually a small plastic circlip holding the fan together, remove this carefully so it can be reused, then clean and lubricate with
thin oil the shaft. That normally fixes it, if not then You need a new Fan.

I got replacements from Arctic Cooling for a Silencer twice. They advertised a ceramic bearing, probably some kind of sleeve bearing and it wears out and starts to make noise. They sent me free fans from China. You should email them. Maybe they still have some inventory.
