I have been trying to get an old game called Star Crusader to work under dos box. But I keep getting an error in the dosbox console (MSCDEX Cannot Allocate Default Buffer) I have tried both my cd-rom drive and my dvd rw + CD rw drive to no effect. Can anyone give me a suggestion? I have also copied the entire cd to my hard drive and it still won't work.

My Computer

Intel P4 3.0 ghz
512 mb ram ddr sdram
Video: Nividia GeForce fx 5200 128mb
Sound: integrated Realtek AC97
Windows XP home

you probably start star crusader with a .com file this takes away all memory from dosbox so dosbox can't allocate memory to return the volume label to the game. This is a bug in dosbox.
