him did a search for this, but didnt come up with anything.

it seems that if i have a joystick connected, dosbox runs at 99%cpu regardless of cycles settings, and this causes all games i try to run poorly. if i get rid of the joystick, speed is much better and cpu usage becomes relavtive to cpu cycles

the joysick is a standard old wingman with 2 buttons and the throttle thingy. it's connected to the game port on the back of my PC.

not a huge problem, but i didnt know if this was a bug, or not.

i dont have a usb controller to test i'm affraid.

You should just get rid of your joysticks that use teh old joystick port and get usb ones 😀

Thanks for the tip! Disconnecting my joystick helped a lot; sound and music doesn't stutter anymore 😀

(Maybe this should be added to the dosbox guides)
