Dosbox I/O?

My question is this:
I have an old DOS scientific program that uses an ISA controller board for I/O and data acquisition. Will this program be able to function in DosBOX properly (ie. send and receive data)? If it helps any, the program is written in QBasic and it uses the "OUT" command to send the output signal directly to the I/O adapter.

Don't think so. DOSBox is to a real PC (and the hardware), as MS Flight Simulator is to a real airplane. EVERYTHING is DOSBox is done by software, software that in turn calls on the real operating system (Windows, Linux, Solaris, MacOS, etc) to make things happen. Unless the real OS knows how to control the ISA card, DOSBox can not do anything.

And even before DOSBox can do anything, it needs to know how to process the IN and OUT instructions. I am not even sure that QBasic will run in DOSBox???
