Hello,

Before I begin I'd just like to say that VDMSound is a brilliant piece of software, I'm very impressed with it.

Now, my younger brother recently found my old Xanth CD and thought it looked pretty cool, so we installed it and ran it with VDMSound. Everything works very well, except for voices, for some reason we don't get any voices.

I was just wondering if anyone hada solution for this. This is the first time I've been unable to find one myself by looking through the VDM ReadMe files or website.

Thank you for any help you can offer,

Michael.

Have you enabled low-level CD-ROM support?
Cheers,

Do you mean by un-commenting the line

lh %SystemRoot%\system32\mscdexnt.exe

in the autoexec.vdms?

If yes, then yes I did, I had to do that to get Kyrandia 3 running for my brother the week before (he's been on a nostalgia trip recently 😉 )

NO. I think Vlad means right-clicking on the .VLP shortcut file and editing its properties. Check Enable low-level CD-ROM support in there.

Ahh, yeah, that is the same thing. I was just using an older version of VDMSound. I'll download the newest version and see if it has any effect.
