Install share.exe in DOSbox under Win7

I have an ancient adventure game called dndbbs (v2.7a) from 1990 and I got share.exe to load after a VER SET 7 but the program still produces an error "share.exe not installed" and I have given up on trying to load the game because it never worked. Seems to run in an XP window though.

I would also like support for LFNs but that will never happen.

Use fakeshare from my Windows 3.x guide (in my signature). It will not restore share functionality but programs will not complain about share not present. However if a program uses share functionality it can lead to problems, e.g. dataloss. A game should be safe, though.

You can always boot an image, load MS-DOS on it then you can share and LFN to your hearts content or you can complain for something that will never happen.

Then it's time to boot from an image in Dosbox with that on. That should st least take care of the share problem

I have managed to start dndbbs with DOSbox-SVN-Daum.
