Haven't used a server OS in ages and today, I got Windows 98SE to connect to the Server 2008 Standard domain after altering changes in both OSes. However, I cannot find a way to make the profile folders the default when the drive is mapped instead of the profiles being on the client HDD to save space. Do I use the Group Policy Management Console for the profiles? I got it to work before back when I had Server 2008 R2 64-bit and Windows 7 Pro as the client, as well as Windows 98SE connected to Server 2003 Standard R2.

Problem is Windows 2000 was the first OS to truly support Group policy, earlier OS's don't natively support it so have to jump though a few hoops.
Below lists a few ways to modify the registry, if you were doing this for lots of computers you could probably force the registry change over group policy, but for 1 or 2 I'd just do it per machine.
