pretty much this, there's a way to make it work from 8.1 x64 an onwards that isn't MechVm with DosBOX? i even considered using a virtual machine but PCem drains my old i3 3.4, the Mech2 the executable works perfectly but when you start a mission with Win95 compatibility it crashes, also the videos has no sound, if you try to open it with without it, the videos has sound, but the game crashes as soon as it opens the main menu.

i had to upgrade my machine from Win7 to 8.1 years ago due to work, and i used to play the windows versions due to the upgrades like the 3dfx, and Mercs dynamic salvage.

also i tried Boxwine but the game asks for a CD to run it

its be possible to hack the main DLL files to recognize everything from 8 and onwards?
