I've installed Starship Titanic today on Windows XP. This game, by Douglas Adams, almost runs even without compatibility modes, but there's one problem, the movies don't show. The game doesn't hang or anything, and the audio plays just fine, but the screen's black. ST doesn't seem to use this format very often, and the movies aren't that long, so I can tell the game still works, because when the movies are played through, the display comes back, and the game continues.
So it looks like only the video of these particular movies is affected. I think they're Intel Indeo movies, as the game installs codecs for it. Looks a bit like the installation of the codec doesn't stick, though there aren't any error messages, but maybe that's because ST is supposed to run on Windows 9x? So I've tried to install codecs for XP, K-Lite Codec Pack 2.27 Full, but that didn't work.
Does anybody have any idea how to play ST on Windows XP fully? I have a feeling everything would work if I just could show Indeo video!
Searching this forum yielded one topic, but that one mainly discussed the Mac version. I've also found this link:

but that only advised using AppCompat.
