I have what I assume to be an EGA/VGA combo card. I have hooked this up to a modern VGA LCD and get the message unsupported video mode, I hook it to a late 90's CRT on VGA and get the scrolling junk on the screen like it isn't SYNC'ed. I tried on an EGA monitor on the 9 pin and get the same scrolling garbage on the screen. I however can make out the famous yellow and cyan Trident ROM message, so I know it is working to a point. Could this card be for 15Khz monitors only maybe? I have tried every combination of jumpers and DIP settings I can try and get the exact same result every time. I did notice a missing crystal and that jumper beside it seems to select one or the other when you follow the traces, but it looks like it was never present from the factory. Any ideas on this card before I give up? The only company names I can find is PH6 Technologies, and a google search turns up nothing.

Using "Magni" as a search term from that little daughterboard turned up an old ad for some pro video gear:

15KHz should work on an EGA monitor shouldn't it? Maybe this card is configured to sync to an external video signal or something.

Maybe try removing the daughter board and just put the DAC chip back in the socket?

Pulling the DAC off the daughter board and directly putting it in the socket didn't seem to make any difference. However i had another gateway VGA crt and it does display properly on boot. However i still can't seem to find the correct combination of settings to get the 9 pin video to work with the 5154 crt i have.
