My system is a 386sx40 running dos 5.0 (iirc).
I'm getting adlib music, sfx, and digitized sound in the menu, but there are not door, gunshot, or voice sounds in game (which I assume are digitzed).
I'm using a CT2230 or CT2290 Sound Blaster 16 with the integrated OPL3 chip.
I've attached photos of my autoexec.bat and config.sys
I appreciate any help/suggestions/advice y'all have to offer to remedy this.
I can provide a video of gameplay if needed.

The obvious thing to test would be to use the standard low DMA channel (1) instead of 0.

i have figured that out, but i believe there is a conflict, because i get an invalid blaster=Dx argument
i need to figure out how to solve that conflict

I put the card in one slot up and everything works now. Weird.

It seems Wolf3D expects Sound Blaster at the usual standard location.

At one time I had a CT2290 that defaulted to IRQ 10, DMA 3, and Wolf3D simply froze upon startup. Actually the IRQ and DMA settings on these cards can be changed to standard IRQ 5 and DMA1 using DIAGNOSE as the card doesn't provide jumpers to configure IRQ/DMA.

Not sure if CT2230 is similar to CT2290, though. Also, given that you moved your card a slot up and it worked, it's possible that you actually inserted the card to a slave ISA slot (which doesn't have DMA). I recall ISA motherboards of that time included both master and slave slots, and you needed to look for a master slot to insert things like sound cards.
