Hi! what is the best way to get an old game to run a bit slower in windows 10? in particular i am trying to now get iM1A2 and i have had success to get the game working in windows 10 - i had to disable the intro videos first as the indeo codec is not supported in windows 10, but following this, in the actual game missions, all the tank fire/missiles/machine guns/ and smoke animation run way too fast - its a bit odd because the vehicles move at their normal pace and one can steer and direct the gun at a normal rate too, so it is just he guns and missiles etc that fire too fast and their shells and missile fly through the air way too fast, absurdly faster than what normally occurred in the game. It is this element that is being calculated too quickly and so what might be a way to slow this?
i tried DXWnd as they have an im1a2 file to import but their solution is to use the time to set the frequency lower but this just makes everything very slow and jerky so it is not the right answer. I feel like there should be a solution to this somewhere though , whether it be another setting in dxwnd or it some over process limiter - i saw something called cpukiller but i havent tried it as i dont like the sound of how it functions, it sounds like it puts too much stress on a computer
