That power supply will work, but you're right to worry about the quality of it - since you'll be drawing so little power it shouldn't be a risk. My preference is to get hold of a used Toshiba adapter, they're cheap and good quality.

The adapter would only pose a risk to the Libretto if it fails and puts out a higher voltage to the libretto. The higher amperage isn't a problem and will be a good thing actually - many of the aftermarket PSUs can't actually run for very long at their max amp rating.

Thanks for the insight. I'll definitely be on the lookout for a Toshiba adapter - unfortunately there seems to be none currently on eBay for the 50CT.

The adapter appears to be of okay quality, so I'm not too worried about it failing overvolted, but nonetheless I'm still going to pick up a Toshiba adapter when I see it 😀
