(yes, I already have a blog: http://classictechnology.herokuapp.com -- but this will be a replacement/upgrade for it. The old site was very rigid and non-user-friendly to make posts, and I want to widen the scope somewhat)

I've been meaning to do this for some time.

I'll be writing the server software myself, so I will have a great deal of flexibility in how the site will function and appear on various systems.

The blog content will have various categories, representing my main interests: vintage computers, programming, vintage machines and clockwork stuff, political philosophy, books I have read, etc., etc.

I'll organize each post by category (or multiple thereof) and make the site easily filterable by those categories.

I intend to make the blog accessible and readable from old ancient browsers in addition to modern browsers. There are a couple different ways to do this; I could have two different "faces" to the site, one retro and one modern, or I could try to make one website that dynamically looks good on either one.

I need suggestions on the topic of how would you prefer a blog look/feel/perform while you're using it? What features do you want in somebody's personal blog site? Like commenting, "like" button, etc.

World's foremost 486 enjoyer.
