Hey guys, I'm building a PC for windows xp gaming with a ZOTAC gf6100 AM2 motherboard. I was using a Sempron 1250le processor but it was a big bottleneck in some games. So I have an AM3 Phenom ii 955, that I have tried on there. It boots, but at really low frequency (800mhz) and it posts as "unknow processor". I have been looking for a bios update for a while, but I don't think there is one.
Does anyone know if configuring the processor specs on the bios make it run alright?

You can try to patch in the microcode

Cool, can you show me the direction I should go to learn about how to do this?

edit: I found this, https://www.delidded.com/how-to-update-cpu-mi … de-in-ami-bios/
hopefully it will work, although I can't download the bios because it's no where to be found, I think I can back it up, an try.

Thanks a lot.

Patching and bios's is rather hit or miss, I tried it on an old gateway board to patch in phenom ii support as the board supported phenom 1 chips. That board now hangs on my wall as a brick.
