Hey, please bear with me.. I'm a complete newbie to this stuff but I'll try and make this as painless as possible. I'm running on a compaq presario with a 1.53 GHz AMD athlon XP 1800+, 352MB RAM, with windows xp home. I'm not positive about sound/video boards.

I'm trying to run an old sim game called Lion (1996) which I got as a cd rip, using DOSbox 0.63. The problem is, when I try to load the game this pops up:
dosboxerr1.gif
When I try to alt tab out of DOSbox I get this:
dosboxerr2.gif
And then the program shuts down.
I don't think the game is corrupt, when I run it without DOSbox it starts (without sound, though), and runs through the intro, but when I get into actual gameplay it crashes. So.. if any of you have the patience to help me, I'd be very appreciative! Thanks in advance for your time.

Has the game any sound configuration utility, such as sound.exe, install.exe, setup.exe, pm_sound.exe or the like? Try configuring it WITHOUT SOUND first, to see if it works properly under DOSBox. Then, start playing with different sound outputs.

Then, it seems you are out of luck. That's the problem with cd-rips. 😒

view file Lions.cfg
there is the path where the game should be installed
CDPATH=C:\LION
not in c:\ like you did
