Asrock 945GMC-S (bulged caps)

Failed power phase components are likely the cause. They need to be checked one by one starting with the CPU VRM area.

Asus P5GPL-X SE only supports P4 and Celeron, no C2D support.

I've tried a Pentium D 530 on the asus board.

Any advice\guide about how to proceed?

I checked the asus board compared to an high resolution picture and I noticed some differences, also mine is labelled as p5gpl-x but the layout is almost like the p5gpl-x SE, I tried to measure the voltage near the cpu pwm (they all showed 0) and then it stopped turning on, I suppose there is a short now since it turns on for less than a second and then off.

AsRock Conroe 1333-d667: it somewhat came back to life, now it gives error e004 on the debug card and gives me 3 short beeps, I also noticed now that it has 2 bulging caps (not very noticeable), 1 near the ram slots and the other near the chipset.

Asrock 945GMC-S, no further tests since most of the caps are bulging.

Here is another update (and looking for help as always).
Asus P5GPL-X SE has been salvaged since it was in short and I haven't the knowledge to understand where it was.

AsRock Conroe 1333-d667 has been recapped, all the bulging caps have been taken off and changed with others with the same specs but I still have the e004 error and 3 short beeps (Base 64 K RAM failure.). What can I do? I tried it with pci video card, with and without ram, I always get E004 on the debug card, if I use a pci express video card it gives another code and then switch to E004, I tried the integrated vga but nothing changed, the only thing I can think is to try and change the 2 caps next to the ram slots, even if they aren't bulging, any advice is welcome.

Asrock 945GMC-S all caps excluding the 3 between the pci slots have been changed, mb gives me the 0000 code when booted, I'm starting to scrap it since I don't think that 3 bulging caps near the pci slots should be a issue since noone of the slot is populated., am I wrong?
